Dr. Anthony Rice Named Principal at Palm Springs High School

The Palm Springs Unified School District Board of Education has named Dr. Anthony Rice as the new principal of Palm Springs High School, effective July 1.

Dr. Rice currently serves as principal of March Mountain High School in Moreno Valley and brings more than 26 years of experience in education to one of the Coachella Valley’s most recognized high schools. Throughout his career, he has worked at both the middle school and high school levels and has held a wide range of leadership positions including athletic director, dean of students, assistant principal, coordinator, and principal.

District leaders and community members are welcoming Dr. Rice’s appointment as an opportunity to continue strengthening academic excellence, student engagement, and school culture at Palm Springs High School.

His extensive background in education and student leadership is expected to bring a well-rounded perspective to the campus, particularly in areas of student achievement, mentorship, and community connection. With experience serving diverse student populations, Dr. Rice has built a reputation for creating supportive educational environments focused on student success and opportunity.

For many in the Palm Springs community, this appointment also carries a deeper meaning: representation matters.

The selection of Dr. Rice reflects the importance of having school leadership that represents the diversity of the students and families served throughout the district.
